Why am I not receiving notifications?

What to check if you're not getting notifications

Getting alerts as people come and go from your property will help you stay up-to-date with who is on your property. If your alerts are not coming through there are a few settings to check.

Before you start on the list below though, restart your phone and then make sure there are no updates for the Onside app waiting. You must also be logged into the Onside app and have opened it at least once in the last 90 days.

Check if you're part of the property team

You must be part of a property team to get check-in/out, risk, and incident notifications. To check if you are;

  1. Click here to log into your account.
  2. Click on the property you are wanting to check.
  3. Click on the 'Team' tab, then on the team.
  4. Check if you're in the team.
    1. If you are, see which access is set and if notifications is ticked.
    2. If you're not in the team, click the image-png-Jan-23-2023-11-29-29-7532-PM 2 button of the team and, then edit. Click 'Add To Team', add yourself, and set the right access and notifications from the 'Settings' tab of the team.

Note: Company Admins can also choose to get risk and incident notifications without being part of a property team.

Check your app account details

Are you logged into the app under the correct account? Remember, you must be an admin to get the alerts. Here's how to check:

  1. Open the Onside app, you should see your properties.
  2. If you can’t see your properties, click on the 3 horizontal lines (menu) in the top left side of the screen.
  3. What email address are you signed in with? Is this the same email address as the user in the property team?
  4. If it isn’t, log out and log back in with the correct details.
  5. If you are signed in with the right email address, the next step is to check your web account settings.

Check your property settings to see if your risk alert aren't disabled

You can turn the off property risk alerts, meaning no alerts will be sent to anyone. To make sure this isn’t selected, follow these steps:

  1. Click here to log into your account.
  2. Click on the property you are wanting to check.
  3. Click “Info”.
  4. Scroll down and make sure the box “Disable alerts for the property” is not checked.
  5. If it is checked, uncheck it and click “Save changes”.

Limited alerts

As an administrator, you can select 'Disable check-in/out notifications', which means you will only be alerted when an incident or risk is reported. To check if this setting has been applied, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the property you are wanting to check.
  2. Click into the team tab.
  3. Look for the check mark in the Notifications column. If there is none, click the image-png-Jan-23-2023-11-29-29-7532-PM 2button to the right and enable the notifications again.

If these settings are all ok and you're still not getting alerts, check your phone settings.
