Why am I not receiving notifications?

What to check if you're not getting check-in/out notifications

Getting alerts as people come and go from your property will help you stay up-to-date with who is on your property. If your alerts are not coming through there are a few settings to check. Before you start on the list below though, restart your phone and then make sure there are no updates for the Onside app waiting.

Check your app account details

Are you logged into the app under the correct account? Here is how to check:

  1. Open the Onside app, you should see your properties. 
  2. If you can’t see your properties, click on the 3 horizontal lines (menu) up the top left hand side of the screen. 
  3. What email address are you signed in with? Is this the same email address you used to set up your properties? 
  4. If it isn’t, sign out and sign back in with the correct details. 
  5. If you are signed in with the right email address, the next step is to check your web account settings. 

Check your account settings to see if your alert setting are correct

You can turn the off property alerts, meaning no alerts will be sent to anyone. To make sure this isn’t selected, follow these steps:

  1. Click here to log into your account. 
  2. Click on the property you are wanting to check.
  3. Click “Info”.
  4. Scroll down and make sure the box “Disable alerts for the property” is not checked. 
  5. If it is checked, uncheck it and click “Save changes”.

Limited alerts

As an administrator, you can select 'Limited alerts', which means you will only be alerted when an incident or risk is reported. To check if this setting has been applied, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the property you are wanting to check.
  2. Click into the team tab.
  3. Click on your name.
  4. Scroll down and check if the limited alerts box ticked? If so untick it and click save. 

If these settings are all ok and you're still not getting alerts, check your phone settings.

Check your phone settings


  • Open settings
  • Click into Apps
  • Scroll down to Onside and select it
  • Click on Notifications, make sure that “Allow notifications” is turned on (blue)


  • Click Settings
  • Scroll down until you see Onside and select
  • Click on Notifications 
  • Make sure “Allow notifications” is switched on (green)

If you have checked everything and are still having issues, a fresh start may be in order. Uninstall the OnSide app and re-install it.
