Share key documents with property owners in Onside
From time to time, after you have been invited to use Onside by a property owner or manager, they may also share documents with you to review or sign.
The guide or video below will take you through how to access those documents and also share other documents with them, even as a free user.
Note: you will only be able to share documents to companies in Onside who have sent you an invite email like this and you have accepted.
Accessing shared documents
If you haven't registered yet, download the Onside app and use the 'Sign up' option to set a password and create your company in Onside (if it doesn't already exist).
You'll need to be an Onside 'Company admin' to follow these steps. If you're not a company admin, take a look at this guide for further information.
- Navigate to the Onside website and click 'Log in' in the top right corner. Enter the same email and password you use on the Onside app.
- From here you'll see a 'Community' option in the side menu and under that 'Documents'.
- If any documents have been shared with you, they will show here like this
You can download the file using the icon to the left of the file name. - Download, view, and update the document as needed
- Once you've made your changes, upload it to your Onside Documents section by clicking the button. You will need to give it a name (we recommend giving the updated file a different name). Expiry date is optional.
- Now that the file is added to your documents, click the 3 dot button to the right of the page and click 'Share'.
- The name of the company which shared the original file with you will be listed there. Once you click 'Share' they will then receive an email advising them that has been shared with them and can access that file when they need.
