Setting up your property map in Onside
For many rural operations, property maps are key to improve efficiency and management for both contractors and staff. Having all of your property information digitalized and available when you need it takes that to the next level. Follow the steps below or take a look at this video to start adding key information to your map.
Setting up your blocks, lines, and areas of interest
- Log in to your Onside web portal.
- Click 'Properties' then 'Managed Properties'.
- Click on the property you would like to add map info to.
- Click the 'Mapping' tab.
- Choose between the 'Area of interest' and 'Blocks' tabs depending on what you need.
- Once you click the 'Add' button you'll then be able to add your area or block with shapes, lines, or pins using the options along the bottom of the screen.
- If you draw a shape, click on the first point to finish the shape.
- For lines, click on the final point.
- You can add multiple shapes, lines, and pins to the same block/area by choosing another shape, line, or pin once you've finished placing the previous on the map.
- Add your information, such as title, type, colour, reference, and details.
- Click 'Save' and you're done! Ready for your contractors and staff to see and interact with. If you need to make any changes, simply double click on the shape, line, or pin.
What will it look like in the app?
The blocks, lines, and areas in the web portal and app will be identical. Information such as the block name and size will show by default, but you can also choose to show or hide risk and task pins will on the map with your map filters.
Tapping on the blocks, lines, and areas will bring up their information card and surrounding blocks will also be greyed out, making it clear what the card relates to.
Areas of interest will be purple and have a icon to indicate what they are.
