How can my visitors and contractors check-in?
Get your visitors and contractors checking in
Hosting a party and having no one turn up is no fun (queue flashback). The same can be said for setting up Onside and not having any visitors.
Letting your visitors and contractors know you're using Onside is the most important step when setting up your property. Invite a company to use Onside via the web portal from the 'External' tab, found under 'Community'.
We've also made it as easy as possible to check-in and cover every scenario that might arise.
Check-in options
Most check-ins will be done from the Onside app. However, in case a visitor hasn't received an invite before arriving on the property so they can have the app ready, they still have all of the options listed below to check-in to your property.
Share a quick check-in link

If someone has arrived on your property and they don't have the Onside app yet, share a property check-in link with them right from the app.
When you tap the share button, you can share the link from any messaging app you like including Facebook, txt messaging, Whatsapp, etc. Android phones can also produce a QR code for them to scan.
The recipient can follow the link and check-in right from their web browser, with no app download needed.
If they close the browser or restart their phone, they can come back to the same link and check-in or out whenever they need.
The Onside Kiosk
The Onside Kiosk is a simple yet effective check-in point for your visitors. Typically made available to visitors on a tablet or computer, the visitor only needs to enter their phone number to go through the property induction.
There's also an option for a visitor to notify who they're there to see.
Note: You'll need to have a Complete or Enterprise subscription to access your property's Kiosk.

QR Code scanning

For some properties, the Onside Kiosk isn't viable, as there may not be anywhere on your property to have it kept secure. Checking in via QR code is a great solution in this situation.
You can download the QR code and QR code poster from the 'Info' tab of your property in the web portal to print out and put up in common visitor areas. Contractors and visitors simply scan the QR code to go through checking-in. They don't even need the Onside app to do this.
Note: The user will need a smartphone with QR code reading camera or app and an internet connection.
Group Check-in
If many people need to check-in to your property at once (such as a harvest crew) and not all of them can follow the methods listed above, there is a group check-in option.
As long as one member in their group has the app, they can advise during their own check-in how many other people will be checking in with them. This will show like 'Joe + 10' in the app visitor list and notifications. In your csv check-in reports there will be a "Additional visitors" column, and a "with x other" in the PDF reports.
By default every property has group check-in enabled. If you would like to disable it for your properties, simply let us know.
