The Onside app has been designed so that it won’t slow you down.
We know that your phone is an essential tool and, if you're like us, you probably use quite a few apps throughout your day. Every app uses some battery and processing power which can slow your phone down. That’s why, when designing the Onside app, we were careful to ensure it was as battery and data efficient as possible.
Battery
During an average working day Onside will use around 5% of your battery. The app mainly uses power when you have it open, so if you use it a lot in a day you might expect slightly more, and if you don’t use it much, it will use less.
Data
To download the Onside app, between 40 - 90 megabytes (MB) will be used, depending on if you're an Android user or an iPhone user. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you do the initial download while you are connected to WiFi.
After that, depending on what the properties you're checking in to have enabled, it would use between 200-500KB for each check-in. To put than into context, if you have a 4GB data plan and check-in to 5 properties every day for a month, Onside will use between 30-75MB per month, which is less than 2% of your monthly data allocation.
